“Start your event planning business” was my father’s advice four years ago! I was so busy working my corporate 9 to 5 job and putting my dreams on hold while I hustled to get a paycheck. Then life happened! I got engaged, married, and had our son all within three years! Recently, I got laid off, but I couldn’t be happier since I have my one year old son who I now get to be home with! I’ve had time to do a lot of thinking, praying, seeking advice, and soul searching. I realized I didn’t want to put my dreams on hold any longer and I couldn’t live with the “what if” by never taking the risk.
With my Dad’s advice, I decided to step out of my “comfort zone” and finally pursue my dream of starting an event planning business. He has started a few successful businesses, so I know I can trust his guidance and he has my best interest. I was always scared to start my own business for fear of failure and waiting for the perfect time. You know what, there will never be a perfect time. Sometimes, you just have to go for it and take that leap of faith. I have a Business degree and an entrepreneurial spirit, so I know that as long as I am determined and work hard, I will succeed. It’s a little scary to think of a complete career change, but it’s what makes me happy! Can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!
